People get pretentious about The Flaming Lips because so many people post Do You Realize?? lyrics and it's just annoying when a really good band with tons of great songs has that 1 song every stereotypical teen girl can't stop quoting.
How is that annoying? That’s awesome! You have something in common with that person. That’s the beauty of music, and lots of other art forms, it unites people in a way that every day conversation usually doesn’t. Music is one of the greatest things in the world, why wouldn’t you want to share it with someone?
It’s not that I don’t understand the sentiment behind what you’re saying… because I do. But that’s so selfish. Ease up.
